The Harlem Residency in Family Medicine is sponsored by the Institute for Family Health, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to high-quality, patient-centered primary health care targeted to the needs of medically underserved communities.
The Institute’s network of 26 practices serves over 85,000 patients each year. Institute practices are recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Homes.
In addition to providing health services, the Institute operates a number of community outreach and training programs that support its mission. The Institute is nationally recognized for its leadership in addressing racial and ethnic health disparities and advancing health information technology.
Residents’ inpatient training will take place at Mount Sinai Hospital. The program’s academic affiliation is with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
